Cape Cod with the Robinsons – Day 1

Summer days on the Cape are always special. These couple days with the Robinson’s were no exception. The car ride in was apparently less than optimal, but what extended road trip with three little ones isn’t. Are we there yet!!?? Fortunately, there is no better cure for travel exhaustion than a few breaths of fresh ocean air. On this first late afternoon together, the suitcases were all still jammed in the car, but the Nantucket Sound beckoned. Perfect weather and everyone together got this vacation off on the right foot. Contest | ENTER TO WIN : Why are family photos important to you?

I love the holidays; it’s that giving time of year. So let’s give away two Subscription Sessions with framed prints! With a little friendly competition mixed in for good measure. So What’s This All About As I reflect back on the year, I am grateful for the opportunities to collaborate with families on building their photo legacy. I am reminded how much I treasure the few photos from grandparents of generations past, most of whom I never had the privilege of knowing. These photo relics inform who I am by providing a glimpse into the minds and experiences of those who …

Fall for Mateo

Last week’s rogue windstorm stripped all remaining color from the trees – a clear sign fall is winding down. One last fall session on a beautiful afternoon in Cambridge is just what the doctor ordered. Mr. Mateo has sprouted some radical curls since I last saw him. His eyes are still every little bit of magic. And he’s motoring around. Curious. Bilingual. Even knows “Goooooogle”. I’ll be darned too if we didn’t see him take his first few solo steps. Which he promptly denied. Hard to believe he’s already one and then some. So much fun to see him again. …

Get the Shot

I get asked frequently, “How can I take better pictures of my kids?” I could rattle on about reading your camera’s manual, the exposure triangle, light, composition, and a myriad of other things. But a good place to start – arguably the best place – is simply to be present. Too often mom and dad’s camera only comes out on holidays and birthdays, missing the extraordinary ordinary moments that fill everyday life. Make a point to have your camera out and accessible at home. Then open your eyes. Really open your eyes. Observe like you are your toddler. Worry less about …

Rescue Rudy

Rudy is all kinds of special. He exudes happiness. He is energetic, playful, funny, gentle, and loving. But Rudy wasn’t dealt a fair hand at the outset and was largely neglected for the first two to three years of his life. Locked up. Which makes his personality and attitude all the more endearing. It makes me smile knowing he has found the perfect forever home, a home which he deserves. (want to view the images larger? click any image to open in slideshow mode without text. then click left/right.) Rudy is a rescue from MSPCA Angell in Boston. To learn more about …
